There are thousands of overseas qualified nurses who are already in the UK but not yet registered with the NMC due to tough language exams. These people will be the main beneficiaries of the new policies.
If they are already employed and the employer is happy with their communication skills; they may be able to confirm that with the NMC which is one less step towards the registration.
The other advantage is of course the clubbing which is applicable for anyone regardless of their country of residence. The period required for combining the test scores has extended from six months to twelve.
All these accepted changes will be effective from January 2023.
